Voters Unanimously Approve Levy for Perrysburg Schools

PERRYSBURG, Ohio (WTVG) - On Tuesday, voters decisively supported the renewal levy for Perrysburg Schools.

LOCAL ELECTION RESULTS

A message from Superintendent Tom Hosler on Tuesday indicated that the 75% approval represented the highest endorsement for a district levy since 1960.

"At a moment when numerous school districts throughout Ohio are encountering difficulties during elections, we are particularly thankful for this landmark result," Hosler stated. "It embodies our community’s collective dedication to our students and reinforces Perrysburg’s enduring custom of uniting to back education." "Beyond financing infrastructure and tools, this levy injects opportunities, ensures safety, and establishes long-term stability for our children," he added.

The statement further indicated that approving the levy safeguards millions of dollars in funding and guarantees that the district can sustain its infrastructure without diverting funds meant for classrooms.

The permanent improvement levy has not been defeated at the polls over the past 45 years; however, residents in Perrysburg have turned down three consecutive tax proposals for their school district. A $100,000 homeowner would pay approximately $40 yearly with the May 6 renewal levy.
