Kelsey Plum's Pre-Game Stunt Steals the Show Ahead of Sparks Debut

This offseason, the Los Angeles Sparks opted to make significant changes by acquiring ex-Las Vegas Aces standout point guard Kelsey Plum. This move was part of an intricate trade involving the Sparks, Aces, and the Seattle Storm.

Last season, Plum recorded an average of 17.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.8 assists with the Aces. This marked her fourth straight year of achieving double-digit points per game.

On Monday, Plum got ready to make her first appearance for the Sparks team, catching everyone’s attention with an unusual pre-game routine that left many supporters intrigued.

The Sparks' X account shared, 'Just moments before Kelsey Plum’s preseason debut,' accompanied by an exhaling-through-the-nostrils emoji.

The clip depicted plum colliding with the basketball hoop's support structure prior to executing several swift jumps and shedding some initial hesitation before Tuesday evening's game start.

"What is she doing though," a fan commented.

Last season, the Sparks ended up with the lowest record in the WNBA at 8-32. They strategically lost games after their rising star Cameron Brink suffered a torn ACL in her left knee, causing her to miss the rest of the season.

The Sparks took an early advantage against the WNBA's latest team, the Golden State Valkyries, on Tuesday evening by scoring more points with 16 compared to Golden State’s 13 in the initial period.

The Sparks continued their lead toward the eight-minute mark in the first half as they continued to press onward against their new Western Conference rivals and in-state counterparts, with Plum working to find her rhythm both both and during the game.
