Victims Identified After Dump Truck Crash in Orangeburg County

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WRDG/WAGV) -- A traffic accident on Interstate 95 in Orangeburg County resulted in two fatalities early Tuesday morning.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that the accident occurred around mile marker 87 at approximately 12:45 a.m.
The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the deceased individuals are Kyle Green, aged 32, and Sara E. Greene, aged 33, from Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; they passed away at the location where the incident occurred.
According to the coroner, their child who was also in the vehicle survived the accident.
Based on reports from state police, a 1987 dump truck and a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox were moving northbound on I-95 when the operator of the Equinox collided with the rear end of the dump truck.
According to troopers, both the driver and front passenger of the Equinox succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The rear occupant of the vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment of their wounds.
According to the coroner, both fatalities resulted from multiple blunt force traumas, and the cause of death was ruled as accidental.
Police officers report that the operator of the dump truck did not sustain any injuries during the collision.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is looking into the accident.
