University of Michigan President Santa Ono Resigns

The president at the University of Michigan announced on Sunday that he will step down to head another university.
Santa Ono, who became the president of the University of Michigan in 2022, stated that he has been chosen as the new president of the University of Florida.
After his nomination gets approval from the Board of Governors, Ono mentioned that he anticipates assuming the position sometime during the coming summer.
While serving as the president of the University of Michigan, Ono mentioned that he had been "beyond inspired by the community."
The University of Michigan—and the State of Michigan—have always held a special place in my heart. Having had the immense honor to be part of such an exceptional community and this amazing state has been truly rewarding.
Although Ono's successor has not been revealed as of now, he mentioned that he will remain actively involved with the Chair of the Board of Regents during this transitional period.
