Steph Curry Out for Game 1 With Hamstring Injury

The Golden State Warriors' chances of winning a championship could be facing serious difficulties.
During Game 1 of their second-round playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Warriors player Stephen Curry sustained a hamstring strain. It happened in the second quarter when Curry appeared limping following a defensive play and touched his left hamstring. Despite attempting to continue playing for a short time, he eventually requested to be substituted due to discomfort.

Soon after, Curry was sidelined for the rest of the game. The Warriors reported that he had sustained a "left hamstring injury."
The previous NBA Most Valuable Player, Curry, ended the game with 13 points on 5 out of 9 shooting (which included three successful three-pointers) within just 13 minutes of playing time. Given that Curry departed from the match when more than eight minutes remained before halftime, and considering Golden State was leading by double digits at that point, they faced an extended period where they needed to maintain their lead against the Timberwolves.
In the second-round series, the Warriors and the Timberwolves will essentially play back-to-back games with only one notable break—a potential four-day pause between Game 5 and Game 6 should those become necessary. Consequently, a strained hamstring would be particularly troublesome for Curry, who frequently sprints and changes direction during each offensive play to find scoring opportunities. Nonetheless, the Warriors have previously triumphed in short-handed situations before this playoff season , and now they'll probably have to do it once more.
