ICC Reveals April 2025 Men's and Women's Player of the Month Award Contenders

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has formally announced the nominations for the Player of the Month award for April 2025.
Nominees for Men's Player of the Month:
Blessing Muzarabani (Zimbabwe)
In the initial Test match held in Sylhet, the player, aged 28, excelled brilliantly. During this game, he exerted complete control over the Bangladeshi batsmen. His performance in the opening innings saw him claim three wickets for just fifty runs, including dismissing Bangladesh's captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto. Muzarabani concluded the series as Zimbabwe's leading wicket taker, securing ten wickets throughout both Tests played, with these wickets coming at an impressive average of 20.50.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Bangladesh)
An adaptable all-star performer, Mehidy Hasan Miraz excelled for Bangladesh during the Test series against Zimbabwe. At age 27, he displayed his prowess in each of the two Tests conducted. During the initial match held in Sylhet, he demonstrated impressive bowling skills by securing consecutive five-wicket hauls.
Ben Sears (New Zealand)
During the second One Day International (ODI) match in Hamilton, Sears dismantled the Pakistani batting lineup, taking down key batsmen such as Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha. His impressive display earned him five wickets for 59 runs, leading New Zealand to win by 84 runs and securing the series triumph. As a result, Sears received the accolade of Player of the Series after claiming ten wickets overall, maintaining an exceptional average of 9.30 and an economical run-rate of 5.07 throughout this outstanding month.
Shortlisted for Women’s Player of the Month:
Kathryn Bryce (Scotland)
