Draymond Green's Rare Move Revives Memories of 2018 in Warriors-Timberwolves Clash

The Golden State Warriors had an impressive first-half lead when they faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday evening during Game 1 of their opening round series.

The Golden State team is leading Minnesota with a score of 44-31 by halftime, having outperformed the Timberwolves by 26-11 points in the second quarter.

Certainly, during the majority of the second quarter, the Warriors were forced to continue playing without their key point guard, Stephen Curry, who left due to a left hamstring injury. This issue was expected to prevent him from returning for the rest of the match.

Although Curry's injury is a significant setback for the Warriors, several crucial players have risen to the occasion in his absence, resulting in their 13-point advantage at halftime.

One player who significantly elevated his performance for Golden State on Tuesday night was their star forward, Draymond Green.

During the first half, Green scored 16 points, having missed only two attempts, including sinking four three-pointers. He also contributed six rebounds, three assists, and two steals, leading the Warriors.

In this first-half performance, Green has tallied the highest number of points he’s ever scored in a half during a playoff game since the 2018 playoffs.

It has genuinely been an astounding display so far from Green, who isn’t recognized for his long-range shooting.

Given his play so far, the Warriors have built a significant lead even with Curry not playing. They'll require Green to continue his scoring in the latter part of the game if they aim to secure an away win.

Certainly, the Warriors also require significant contributions from their other crucial players like Jimmy Butler and Brandin Podziemski, along with Draymond Green, as Stephen Curry is slated to sit out for the rest of the match.
