NBA Playoffs: Tyrese Haliburton Embraces Fine for Reviving Big-Balls Celebration in Homage to Sam Cassell

Tyrese Haliburton might receive an answer from the NBA following what could be the most significant basket of his career, and he is completely okay with that.

The Indiana Pacers guard astonished the Cleveland Cavaliers and the entire NBA on Tuesday with a scoring play that ended in a three-pointer, giving the Indiana Pacers the advantage. The Pacers currently hold a 2-0 advantage in the Eastern Conference semifinals series.

In the video you'll see that Haliburton steps out of frame momentarily as the Cavaliers regroup for their final desperate attempt at scoring. Later replays indicated that Haliburton was having fun, much like how Sam Cassell used to enjoy himself on the court.

No parties are as notorious as those of Cassell involving his famous large-ball dance routine. which itself originates from the movie "Major League II." Of course, the celebration isn't exactly family friendly, and the NBA has an established history of fining players who use it.

Certainly, Haliburton’s action counts as well. In response to questions regarding the impending fine following the match, he expressed that he had been anticipating an opportunity to utilize this moment for quite some time and felt prepared for whatever consequences came his way.

Haliburton concluded his appearance by attempting one more shot. In an NBA players' survey, he emerged as the top choice for the most overrated player in the league. The audience in Cleveland prodded that bear during Tuesday’s match with an undeserved cheer. much to the dismay of Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell .

As he did after burying the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round , Halliburton had these two words: "Overestimate that."

Odds are Haliburton won't rank as high in the poll next year, especially if the Pacers finish off the Cavs for a giant upset for their second trip to the Eastern Conference finals in three years.

The third game is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET on Friday in Indianapolis.
