Jury selection started On Monday, supervised by Judge Arun Subramanian. According to The New York Post reported that following approximately 90 minutes of jurors asking questions, Diddy admitted to feeling nervous. Additionally, he asked for a brief two-minute recess to use the restroom.
“I apologize, your Honor; I’m feeling quite uneasy today,” he allegedly stated. Allowed to wear civilian attire instead of the standard prison garb, the 55-year-old chose to sport a blue sweater paired with a white collared shirt. He positioned himself alongside his legal team, watching as potential jurors were selected.

A group of 50 individuals was selected as potential jurors. On Monday (May 5), both the defense and prosecution teams questioned these candidates based on surveys they had completed earlier. As reported by the Post, the questioning extended to include topics such as each juror’s perspective on the hip-hop music sector, “individuals who engage in sexual activities with various partners,” among others.
In the end, 12 residents from New York City will be chosen to deliver a verdict in Diddy's case. The embattled music tycoon faces accusations of running a criminal enterprise that forced women into sexual acts during drug-infused events known as "freak-offs." Diddy has entered a plea of not guilty for charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution. If found guilty of racketeering, he could face imprisonment for life. The charge of sex trafficking comes with a potential lifetime sentence as well, but also includes at least 15 years behind bars. For the offense related to transporting someone for prostitution purposes, Diddy potentially faces up to 10 years in jail.
