Walton Goggins is checking into the 2025 Met Gala .

The White Lotus star stepped out in New York City May 5 as he made his first-ever appearance at the annual fundraising gala, which benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

For his first appearance at the Metropolitan Opera, the 53-year-old swapped the colorful Hawaiian shirts he famously wore on the HBO show for an unconventional outfit: a black inside-out skirt created by designer Thom Browne, paired with a white shirt and a black tie. Attendees at this year’s ball, including his costars Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood , received a "Customized for You" dress code from the museum, which they explained was "specifically created to offer direction and encourage imaginative interpretation." These instructions aim to assist visitors in capturing the spirit of the event. event’s theme for 2025 —titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”—reflecting the museum’s latest exhibition that highlights the evolution of Black men’s fashion.

Walton's appearance at the Met Gala marks the beginning of a hectic week for the actor, as he is scheduled to undertake several engagements. Weeks earlier, the late night sketch show featured a spoof of The White Lotus titled “The White POTUS,” and while Walton called the skit “amazzzingggg” on social media, his costar Aimee was less enthused (She subsequently mentioned that she had received an apology from people associated with the show.)
