VIDEO: Tornado Confirmed as Severe Weather Strikes Delaware Valley

( WPHL )—The Delaware and Lehigh areas experienced severe weather on Tuesday, featuring a verified tornado in Northampton County and pea-sized hail in Montgomery County.

Just before 4 p.m., the The National Weather Service has put out a tornado alert. For sections of Northampton County, the tornado warning was terminated prior to its scheduled expiration at 4:30 p.m.

The video provided by Joseph Martucci captures a funnel cloud approaching Bangor prior to 4 p.m.

The National Weather Service reports verified a tornado made landfall Close to Bangor. A clip provided by Kevin Bradham captures the tornado approaching houses on Washington Boulevard.

The governmental body anticipates additional data later in the week once the evaluation of damages from the storm has been finished.

Earlier in the afternoon, a severe weather watch blanketed most of the region. Video shared by Matt Flanagan shows heavy rain and pea-sized hail falling in Limerick.

There will be a chance of a few isolated showers overnight, according to the National Weather Service.
