Seton Hall Adds Versatile Transfer Elijah Fisher From Pacific

Seton Hall basketball was urgently looking for a swingman and an additional player with high-major experience for the upcoming season, and they've filled these needs with a single transfer addition.

Elijah Fisher, a junior from Pacific who previously played at DePaul and Texas Tech, committed to the Hall May 6.

Here are three points to keep in mind regarding the 6-feet-6, 220-pound player, who still has one year of athletic eligibility left.

1. He created content at Pacific

This past season, Fisher put up an average of 15.7 points and 4.8 rebounds in 33 minutes per game, with a field-goal percentage of 48.3%, a three-point shot accuracy of 29.7%, and a free-throw success rate of 74.8%. The Tigers concluded their campaign with a record of 9 wins against 24 losses overall and 4 victories out of 14 games within the West Coast Conference.

Here were his performances against notable competition:

Against Arkansas: 23 points with an efficiency of 8 out of 10 from the field, along with 2 assists and 2 steals

Vs. Missouri: 5 points on 2-of-6 field goals, 6 rebounds, 3 assists

Vs. Colorado: 17 points on 5-of-14 field goals, 8 rebounds

Vs. Saint Mary’s: 17 points on 7-of-10 field goals, 8 rebounds, 2 assists

Against Gonzaga: scored 9 points with 2 out of 7 shots from the field, grabbed 2 rebounds

Versus Washington State (in two games): averaged 10.0 points with 9 out of 21 field goals made, along with 2.5 rebounds per game.

Vs. Oregon State (two games): 12.0 points on 7-of-17 field goals, 3.5 rebounds

Colorado, Ole Miss, and Villanova supposedly contacted Fisher during the recent spring season.

2. He has plenty of high-major experience

The Toronto native was a four-star, top-50 prospect coming out of high school, when he chose Texas Tech over Kansas, Kentucky and Oklahoma State. He averaged 3.3 points as a freshman with the Red Raiders before transferring to DePaul, where he averaged 10.2 points and shot 52 percent from the field as a sophomore. That DePaul squad finished 3-29 overall and 0-20 in the Big East. In two games against the Pirates that season, Fisher tallied 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting.

Fisher has the most Big East experience of anyone on Seton Hall’s roster – and the most high-major experience by far. That was a major draw for the Pirates’ coaches as they continue to prioritize adding older players with a history of production after busting on several younger, less established imports last offseason.

3. He declared for the NBA Draft

Fisher recently declared for draft process while maintaining his eligibility, but he did not get invited to either of the major scouting combines. There are major minutes awaiting him in South Orange as a projected starting wing and multi-positional guy.

The Pirates now have five open scholarships for next season.
