Seattle Mariners Unveil Exciting Tuesday Lineup Moves
Following a grueling 7-6 defeat on Monday night, the Seattle Mariners shared some encouraging news in their Tuesday lineup for the game against the Athletics.
First, Randy Arozarena, who left Sunday's game with a hamstring issue and missed Monday's game, is back in the lineup as the designated hitter. For a team that can ill-afford another injury, having Arozarena back in the fold is a big deal.
Secondly, Jorge Polanco is included in the lineup facing left-hander Jeffrey Springs. Since early April, he hasn’t begun a game against a southpaw due to an enduring oblique problem impacting his ability to swing with his right hand. Additionally, it’s worth noting that placing Polanco in the infield makes way for Arozarena to take over as the designated hitter. Also, Polanco hasn’t been out on the field regularly since early April either.
Dylan Moore has returned to the lineup after spending over a week on the injured list due to right hip inflammation. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that this marks Cal Raleigh’s first rest day since the start of the season.
Starting with a record of 20-14, the Mariners currently lead the American League West division, though they hold only a one-game advantage over the Athletics.
Emerson Hancock is set to pitch for Seattle versus Springs, following up on his previous two outings which were both quality starts.
The Seattle team will conclude their series against the Athletics on Wednesday at 12:35 p.m. Pacific Time. Before heading back home, Bryan Woo is set to begin this final game. Afterwards, they'll host the Toronto Blue Jays for the weekend.
