Owen Caissie Slams Fifth Home Run on Tuesday

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie On Tuesday, he went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk for Triple-A Iowa. This marked his fifth homer of the season and his third consecutive game with an extra-base hit. While his batting average remains modest at .230, his knack for drawing walks keeps his on-base percentage healthy at .343 for the year. Given the strong performance from Chicago’s outfielders, Caissie has limited opportunities for playing time. As a former second-round selection, he will probably stay in the minor leagues unless injuries arise. His current 35.3 percent strikeout rate needs enhancement. Although he had to leave Tuesday's contest prematurely because of muscle spasms, he is not anticipated to lose significant playing time. Expect him to make his major league debut before the end of the season; however, he should not be considered as someone worth holding onto right now.
