Met Gala 2025: Red Carpet's Hottest Looks Revealed
Celebrities are beginning to arrive at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Met Gala—the red carpet event where many of them save their most daring and extravagant outfits.
This marks the fashion industry's premier event of the year. Boasting approximately 450 invitees, it stands as an exceptionally selective affair.
Top fashion designers, stylists, and supermodels are anticipated to step onto the famous steps at the Metropolitan Museum. However, this yearly fundraising event isn’t just about fashion; it gathers influencers from various fields including athletics, art, and show business as well. This year’s eclectic group of co-hosts—ranging from Louis Vuitton menswear designer Pharrell Williams, hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky, Formula 1 racer Lewis Hamilton, to actor Colman Domingo—serve as evidence of how significant the event has become within today’s cultural landscape.
The highly awaited dress code this year, titled "Customized for You," drew inspiration from the Costume Institute’s related exhibit "Ultra-fine: The Artistry of Black Fashion." This showcase delves into the evolution of black style and dandiness throughout history.
The Met says The yearly theme aims to "offer direction while encouraging innovative exploration." Consequently, fashion enthusiasts will anticipate numerous references to tailored clothing and men’s wear, along with homages to iconic black figures in fashion, designers, and stylish individuals from as far back as the 18th century.
The theme for this year is both relevant and highlights our vibrant culture, which deserves widespread celebration," stated R&B artist Usher, who is part of the event’s hosting team, in a statement from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
