Haiden Deegan Wins 2025 Championship at Denver's Supercross Event
By securing victory in Denver, Haiden Deegan clinched the championship title for the 250SX West division in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series.
This marks his fourth AMA championship early in his career.
Deegan, who is 19 years old, secured his third victory of 2025 in this competition. He managed to place on the podium for all races except the first one in Anaheim where he achieved a top-five finish instead. Following the round held after Denver, he leads his teammate from Yamaha, Cole Davies, by an impressive margin of 25 points. This gap means Davies cannot catch up anymore as Deegan also retains the edge during tie-breaking scenarios. There remains just one more scheduled race—a joint event involving both the 250 class along with riders from the East division—which will take place in Salt Lake City’s Showdown.

First off, I want to commend Cole (Davies); he has been performing exceptionally well," stated Deegan following the race and his championship celebration. "With only two laps remaining, I was determined to secure that victory. I would have done whatever it took to get it. Winning this Championship holds significant value for me because many people questioned my abilities throughout. They were saying that I was just hype when entering Supercross and Motocross.
“Well done for Cole and an excellent race.”
After colliding with Deegan during the Main Event, Davies dropped to fifth place. He acknowledged that although certain circumstances were beyond his control, he should have steered clear of ending up in such a precarious spot.
I had a solid beginning and focused on building a small lead and maintaining it, but I ended up getting tangled with some lap traffic," Davies explained. "I really should have taken advantage of that situation more effectively, which is entirely my fault for tonight. Honestly, I shouldn't have allowed myself to end up in that spot. It took many sacrifices to bring me here, so a huge thanks goes out to everyone involved, and you can count on seeing me again at Salt Lake.
Second in the race went to Julien Beaumer. It was his first podium since late January when he also finished second at Anaheim 2. The three-week break for the west division was key for Beaumer’s development.
I put in a significant amount of effort over the past three weeks during that break, aiming to return to my former self—the player I was at the beginning of this season," Beaumer said reflectively. "This weekend, I believe I demonstrated that I'm back and prepared to compete again in Salt Lake.
Garrett Marchbanks earned his second podium in the last three events, finishing third in the penultimate round.
I began really well in the Heat, and I hoped to continue that momentum in the Main event, but unfortunately, it didn't happen," Marchbanks stated. "However, I managed to make some solid passes and focused on staying close to Beaumer throughout. I'm simply grateful for being back up here.
Jordon Smith finished fourth. Coty Schock, Michael Mosiman, Drew Adams, Jo Shimoda and Enzo Lopes round out the top 10 spots.
The indoor stadium season finale will take place in Salt Lake City at Rice-Eccles Stadium next Saturday, May 10 with a Showdown event for the 250 division, combining both West and East classes. Coverage begins with Race Day Live at 1 p.m. ET. Pre-race coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. ET, both streaming live on Peacock. Gate drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. live on USA and streaming on Peacock.
