ETSU's Young and Muir Earn Second Team All-SoCon Recognition
(WJHL) - The Buccaneer softball team has two all-conference players for 2025, following the release of the Southern Conferences post-season honors on Tuesday.
Seniors Cameron Young and Sara Muir were each selected for the Second Team honors.
Young concluded a impressive final year by hitting .385 with 26 RBIs and ten doubles. Additionally, she crossed home plate 30 times and secured 21 walks. As for her performance at shortstop, she wraps up her tenure in Johnson City atop the program’s record book with 56 doubles.
Young will depart from the Bucs as a four-time all-conference selection.
Muir earned her third consecutive All-SoCon recognition, excelling both as a pitcher and hitter. This season, she led the team with a 3.27 ERA, accumulating 30 strikeouts over 55.2 innings pitched.
In his turn at bat, the first baseman achieved a batting average of .273 and topped the team with 33 runs batted in along with four home runs.
ETSU begins its playoff journey with a matchup against Western Carolina in the first round of the SoCon Tournament. The game is set to start at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
