Colorado Fan Sues NFL for $100M Over Shedeur Sanders' Draft Snub

Shedeur Sanders' NFL draft slide , already the top storyline throughout the draft, has entered crazy territory .

Many individuals, including Sanders, shifted their focus away from talking about the slide and instead discussed how he did. fits in with the Browns . However, one anonymous Colorado A fan couldn’t get over what happened during the draft weekend so swiftly. This “devoted Colorado football supporter” has initiated legal action in a federal court in Georgia, demanding $100 million (!) From the league regarding "how the NFL's decisions affected his mental health."

The lawsuit claims that the NFL breached "antitrust regulations, civil rights, intentional causing of emotional distress and trauma, as well as consumer protection statutes," according to MSNBC’s Jordan Rubin.

Here are more details on the complaint:

Said the report, despite showcasing notable abilities and garnering considerable focus throughout the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Sanders was selected with the 144th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. complaint Filed in Georgia's federal court by an individual using the alias John Doe, this lawsuit was brought forth by a "devoted follower of Colorado football" who also resides in Georgia. The complainant asserted that negative rumors and unauthorized disclosures regarding Sanders adversely affected the league's decisions, resulting in "emotional anguish and psychological harm to the plaintiff as both a supporter and customer."

On top of the nine-figure money damages, the suit seeks a “formal acknowledgment from the NFL regarding the emotional distress caused by their actions and statements,” a “retraction of the slanderous statements made about Shedeur Sanders, along with an apology for any harm caused to his reputation” and implementation of "fairer practices in the drafting process to ensure that talented players are recognized and given opportunities based on merit.”

In straightforward terms, the Colorado fan thinks that Sanders' drop in the draft has caused him significant emotional pain and suffering, leading him to believe the NFL should compensate him for his difficulties. This assertion is considered preposterous and will probably be rejected before it moves forward.

Sanders has some die-hard fans who obviously will go to great lengths to fight for their favorite players. Still, both parties are unlikely to receive any financial or even "emotional" compensation for his draft slide.

The former Colorado star will now look to make a name for himself in a crowded quarterback room in Cleveland that features Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. He begins his professional career this week with the Browns ' rookie minicamp.
