Charlie Cox Reveals "Daredevil: Born Again" Episode 5 as His Least Favorite, Admitting "I Wasn't Into It"

If it depended on Charlie Cox, Episode 5 of "Daredevil: Born Again" would have been omitted.

Prior to the launch of the Disney+ remake, reports circulated about an initial script where Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page met their demise off-camera. However, the series underwent revisions before being released. In a recent interview, The Playlist “Born Again” actor Cox mentioned that he was disappointed because the show’s fifth episode, named “With Interest,” stayed exactly the same as originally planned.

“I’m not sure if you find this interesting, but let me point out that there’s an episode we left exactly as it was,” Cox stated. “This particular episode takes place in a bank and was filmed prior to the strike. It also appeared in the initial script version. Personally, though, I wasn’t particularly fond of it.”

In this particular episode, Cox’s character, Matt Murdock—also known as Daredevil—is embroiled in a bank heist when he attempts to secure a business loan for his legal practice. Cox expressed that this was his least favored installment of the season, mentioning that he “resisted it as strongly as [he] deemed fit.”

Cox commented, "That seems like something from the 1970s. With all the advanced tech we have today, such an approach wouldn’t be practical. Additionally, I doubt the tool utilized for the heist was high-tech enough."

He went on, "I was quite resistant during the production of that episode, but I’ve received feedback from numerous individuals who say they adore it. This just highlights how unpredictable these things can be—everyone has distinct preferences. Moreover, I’ve been told that this particular episode ranks among the top-rated ones. In fact, internally, based on their evaluations, it stands as one of the most highly rated Disney series they have produced."
