Brittany Cartwright Exposes Jax Taylor's "Rage Texts" From Rehab as He Struggles Through Each Day
While on a group trip to Santa Barbara with her co-stars from "The Valley," Cartwright was inundated with texts from Taylor. This came shortly after he checked into a mental health center and expressed his anger towards his former partner.
Looks like peace and quiet were too much to ask!
In last Tuesday's fresh installment of The Valley, lead actress Brittany Cartwright went on an excursion to Santa Barbara alongside her co-stars where they enjoyed wines and bonded as a group. However, during this time, she received numerous messages from her ex-husband, Jax Taylor, who had recently admitted himself into a treatment center focusing on managing his rage and overcoming addiction challenges.
Although the mother of one anticipated having some downtime following the heated argument with Taylor that resulted in him entering rehabilitation, Cartwright soon faced an unexpected setback when, within days of his admission, Taylor started bombarding her phone with messages.
Ugh, he has started texting again," Cartwright said to co-stars Michelle Lally, Janet Caperna, and her spouse Jason Caperna during their drive to Santa Barbara. "He apparently spends nearly seven hours a day in therapy, so they confiscate his phone when he's in sessions, but he gets fifteen-minute breaks in between.
She went on, "He goes to therapy, gets his phone, and starts rage texts messaging me. Then he returns to therapy, gets his phone again, sends more rage texts, and then heads back for another round of therapy."
At the confessionals, Cartwright mentioned she believed things would calm down with Taylor around, however, she stated that it has turned out to be quite the opposite.
One of the primary factors behind Jax being at this mental health facility currently stems from his problems with anger and fury," shared the former Vanderpump Rules star with the camera crew. "I genuinely believed that after his month-long stay, I could experience some tranquility... How naive was I?
The messages kept coming through the entire weekend as Taylor messaged both Cartwright and co-cast mate Kristen Doute while they were out together at an event involving remote-controlled car races.
"I simply have to block his number," a exasperated Cartwright informs the group as he continues receiving frequent notifications from Taylor.
Doute verified that she has also communicated with Taylor, who exclusively shared unfavorable comments regarding the mother of his child—specifically mentioning her relationship with his ex-friend, Julian, and causing Cartwright to feel bad for having fun with friends during a getaway while he focuses on improving his mental well-being.
"I received a message from him earlier," Doute informed Cartwright, mentioning that Taylor claimed he has been relishing his rehabilitation period. However, Cartwright remains skeptical, informing Doute that this might be merely a facade put up by the bar owner, as she receives "anger-filled messages" with another version of the story from him.
Cartwright stated, "He's attempting to portray himself this way because he realizes we're here today." As Taylor's messages appear onscreen, they accuse her of being the villain in their relationship.
I'm not visiting him often enough. I'm failing as a wife," Cartwright confessed, listing some of the accusations Taylor has leveled against her during his time in rehabilitation. "Why haven't I sent him care packages? Why haven't I attempted to go see him? It's already been three days.
As she received additional messages, Cartwright became increasingly emotional and pleaded with her former partner to genuinely use this break to seek the necessary assistance, emphasizing that it’s crucial not only for him but also for their 4-year-old boy, Cruz.
During their outing together, reports emerged about Taylor's stint in rehabilitation. It remains uncertain whether he was aware of these rumors. In an effort to keep things stable, Cartwright advised against messaging him so as to avoid his potential departure before completing the intended 30 days.
Most of the episode remained uneventful for Taylor, except for a video log he made and forwarded to the producers where he shared his initial experiences at the facility.
The initial few days were tough for me; I kept myself distant," Taylor remembered. "It all seemed alien to me. I wasn't happy about being there. The people around weren't appealing either, and their voices bothered me. To tell you the truth, each day brings up new feelings, some of which I never knew existed.
Even though Taylor had enrolled at the treatment center to address his problems, he found himself unable to resist blaming Cartwright. He criticized her for continuing with her normal routine as he grappled with his inner struggles.
I dislike being here while she's out having adventures and such," he confessed to the camera. "There are times when I feel quite isolated and overlooked. It would mean a lot if she reached out to me more often. I understand that I've caused significant problems, and I recognize that she has her own struggles too. But when we said our vows—through sickness and in health—I never imagined it would be like this; currently, I'm the one who's unwell.
Even though he recognizes that both he and Cartwright have experienced significant pain and frustration, Taylor mentioned that rehabilitation allows him to discuss all the issues bothering him. Despite his initially conflicting feelings, he has come to understand that this is exactly what he requires at present.
I can't continue this way anymore. It's destroying me," Taylor cried. "It's hurting my wife, tearing apart my family, and if I don't find a solution soon, it will ruin my son's life as well.
