Trump Responds to India's Strikes on Pakistan: 'A Real Shame'
U.S. President Donald Trump has condemned the tensions between India and Pakistan, according to The Guardian.
The leader of the White House was questioned regarding India's missile attacks on areas under Pakistani control.
"What a pity. We only found out about it recently," he informed the reporters.
Trump said that "people knew something was going to happen based on the past" because both sides have been fighting "for many, many decades and centuries."
"I simply wish it concludes very swiftly," Trump said additionally.
Escalation of military tensions between India and Pakistan
On the evening of Wednesday, May 7, the Indian military initiated missile strikes against Muzaffarabad, which serves as the capital of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.
The nation's Ministry of Defense has initiated "Operation Sindoor," during which attacks are being conducted against infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistani-administered Kashmir.
Reports indicate that there have already been victims and injured individuals due to the assault.
Islamabad has shut down its airspace for civilian planes and is carrying out military operations as a result.
Pakistan has dispatched its planes and is now carrying out counter-strikes.
