Scam Alert: Beware of Court Date Spoofs in New Mexico

The Quay County Sheriff's Office is alerting residents to a series of scam calls being made in eastern New Mexico.

Subscribe to our NewslettersThe office has been alerted about an individual who is falsely identifying himself as a QCSO sergeant over the phone. He informs people that they supposedly skipped a court appearance, which resulted in a warrant being issued for their arrest.
The QCSO also stated that they will refrain from making telephone calls to inform individuals about outstanding arrest warrants.
Those who receive these phone calls are being asked to hang up.
