Rose Garden Pavilion at Hershey Gardens Closer to Approval

The Derry Township Planning Commission has suggested that a suggested Rose Garden Pavilion at Hershey Gardens move forward.

The M.S. Hershey Foundation plans to build the new 3,571-square-foot pavilion at Hershey Gardens , which will substitute for the present seasonal tent located at the eastern part of the Milton & Catherine Conservatory.

The pavilion will accommodate various school groups, educational initiatives, and enhanced floral exhibitions. Additionally, it will feature a terrace offering views of Milton Hershey’s initial rose garden. The interior design will consist of ten handcrafted stained-glass windows along with light fixtures shaped like flowers.

It is anticipated that the new facility will open in Fall 2026.

The pavilion will overlook the largest part of the original Hershey Rose Garden.

When it first opened in 1937, Hershey Gardens was known as the Hershey Rose Garden. The site now encompasses various attractions such as specialized garden areas, changing exhibitions throughout the year, numerous trees, an indoor butterfly habitat, countless rose plants, a retail store for gifts, along with a conservatory that made its debut in 2016.

The M.S. Hershey Foundation runs Hershey Gardens. Situated at 170 Hotel Road in Derry Township close to the Milton Hershey School and The Hotel Hershey, Hershey Gardens can be found here.

A campaign aiming for $3.5 million has been initiated for this project.

The approval of the land development plan is still required from the township supervisors.
