Robbinsdale schools employee arrested for child porn possession

A technician who provided IT support for Robbinsdale Area Schools was taken into custody Tuesday for possessing materials related to child sexual exploitation.

The St. Louis Park Police Department reported executing a search warrant at a residence on the 5700 block of Highway 7 around 7 a.m., resulting in the arrest of a male individual for possessing child pornography.

It was subsequently verified that the individual is an employee of Robbinsdale Area Schools, offering technical assistance to both staff and various systems.

Derrick Williams, who serves as the director of communications for the school district, informed the police that the staff member in question did not have routine, unmonitored interaction with students.

The case is still ongoing, with the man remaining detained at Hennepin County Jail.
