Mariners' Randy Arozarena Returns as DH After Hamstring Injury

Randy Arozarena from the Seattle Mariners is returning to the lineup for their away game on Tuesday against the Athletics.
Arozarena did not play in Monday's opening game of the series because of a right hamstring issue. He will be acting as the designated hitter for Tuesday’s contest and is scheduled to bat fourth.
During Sunday's defeat against the Texas Rangers, Arozarena hurt his hamstring.
This season, the left fielder has been hitting at a .224 average, scoring five home runs, driving in 18 RBIs, and managing eight stolen bases across 32 games.
Arozarena's absence on Monday cost the Mariners dearly as they lost 7-6 in 11 innings to the Athletics.
Seattle exhausted all their position players before the start of the 11th inning and were forced to shift second baseman Leo Rivas to left field, as well as lose their designated hitter spot for the remainder of the game by inserting DH Jorge Polanco into second base.
After the game, Mariners manager Dan Wilson stated, 'We decided to grant him a day off to recover from his hamstring injury.'
Arozarena has smashed at least 20 home runs in each of the previous four campaigns. Before the trading deadline for last season, Seattle obtained him from the Tampa Bay Rays.
