Man Dies, Suspect Apprehended Following Stabbing at Fitchburg Bar, Police Report
FITCHBURG, Wis. (WMTV) — The Fitchburg Police Department reported that a 39-year-old man has died following a stabbing incident at a bar early Tuesday morning.
According to law enforcement, he passed away at the medical facility due to his wounds. Additionally, a 39-year-old male was apprehended at a residence in Sun Prairie.
The authorities mentioned that additional details regarding the murder inquiry will be disclosed on Wednesday afternoon.
At around 1 a.m., the FPD was dispatched to a bar located at 6200 block of McKee Road due to reports of a commotion occurring in the parking area.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, they found out that those involved had already departed from the location.
The police mentioned that shortly after, they found out a man had reached a nearby hospital with critical stabbing injuries.
The Fitchburg Police Department reported shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday that the person involved had passed away.
Officials stated that investigators think the individuals involved were acquainted with one another prior to the stabbing incident.
