Local Firm Surpasses Goal, Raises $43K for Kids at Annual Meeting

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- The casino-themed evening event that began as part of Consolidated Construction Company’s yearly staff training has evolved into a significant employee-led effort focused on supporting local nonprofit groups.

The internal gathering titled "United for a Purpose" highlighted the combined strength of 120 staff members rallying behind a shared objective.

Every team member discovered their own method of contributing. Some utilized over four decades of established business relationships to secure sponsorships, whereas others helped out by providing raffle baskets and joining in various events like raffles, games, and other happenings at the gathering. A number of members even took part in multiple forms of support.

The initiative resulted in a significant achievement: raising $43,796.57 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Prior to starting the fundraiser, team members outlined the campaign by proposing and voting on issues that carry significant personal importance.

This year, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals caught the attention of Consolidated when employee Melissa nominated them following her touching account of how this organization provided vital medical assistance to her family.

Her story struck a chord profoundly, garnering widespread backing across the organization for the collaborative mission to assist struggling families.

“I’m immensely proud of our team members who enthusiastically supported this wonderful initiative to contribute to their nearby Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” stated Michelle Rueckl, Vice President of Human Resources at Consolidated Construction. “The triumph of this event stems directly from their hard work. They’re the ones responsible for all the donations, sponsorships, and funds collected; without them, none of these would be possible. It’s truly awe-inspiring to see our staff and collaborators unite so wholeheartedly towards a common goal,” she added.

A ceremony for presenting checks to the Children’s Miracle Network was held in Appleton on Tuesday.

The resources will be allocated to three hospitals located near Consolidated’s three offices: Children’s Wisconsin in Wauwatosa, WI; Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD; and Sanford Children’s North Dakota in Bismarck, ND.

The firm intends to keep up the "Consolidated for a Cause" tradition in the coming years, supporting a different charitable organization annually.
