Lakers Icon Raises Alarm Over Steph Curry's Latest Injury

In a must-win Game 7 showdown with the Houston Rockets, star point guard Steph Curry guided the Golden State Warriors to a crucial triumph, though he may have incurred an injury as a consequence.

During Sunday’s victory, Curry scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 7 assists, though he logged an impressive 46 minutes to achieve these stats. Despite almost playing the full duration of the match, Curry had to quickly regroup as they faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves for Game 1 of the next round with only one day of respite between games.

Sadly for the Warriors, they seemed to struggle with their rapid schedule change. Not long after entering the second quarter, Curry began limping due to what appeared to be a hamstring issue.

Ultimately, Curry was deemed unfit to play for the rest of Tuesday's Game 1, which was quite disappointing, particularly considering his performance up until then. In just 13 minutes of gameplay, he scored 13 points, hitting 5 out of 9 shots from the floor and 3 out of 6 three-point attempts.

During halftime of Tuesday’s match, basketball icon and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal was candidly critical regarding Curry's situation.

"Young as he may seem, maybe he’s beginning to show signs of wear and tear,” O’Neal commented regarding Curry. “For someone his age—37—he remains quite active. This situation might turn out to be pivotal. If I were with Golden State, I would certainly aim to secure this match for him so we can give him some time off before Game 2.”

The Warriors have excelled during Tuesday evening games, despite Curry’s departure. However, they undoubtedly require him back in top form for the remainder of this series. It was wise of them to keep Curry out for the rest of Game 1, and his teammates are proving their worth by managing the game effectively in his absence.
