High School Showdown: Lancaster Baseball Dominates Logan, Stays Top in OCC

BASEBALL

Lancaster 10, Logan 0 (5 innings): The Golden Gales (13-3, 8-2) stayed at the top of the Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division following their victory against the visiting Chieftains.

Carson Miller secured the victory by pitching four innings without allowing any runs. At the plate, Aaron Banna topped the Gales' offense with three hits and four RBIs. Additionally, Brayden Montgomery contributed three hits and three RBIs, while Zach Mowder added two hits, one of which was a home run.

Berne Union 10, Fisher Catholic 0: The Rockets (13-5, 9-3) cruised in their Mid-State League-Cardinal Division win over the Irish.

Clayton Moore pitched five scoreless innings, giving up one hit while striking out five. Moore also went 2 for 4 with three RBIs to lead the offense. Carson Kiger had a triple, scored two runs and had an RBI, Cam Brown had a hit and scored a run, and James Hocking had a hit, scored two runs and had an RBI.

SOFTBALL

Fairfield Christian Academy 29, Harvest Prep 16: The Knights outslugged the Warrriors in MSL-Cardinal Division action.

Abby Heisner went the distance inside the circle and struck out 10. Katy Smeltzer had two hits while Heisner, Addie McNamee and Amelia Beard added hits. Claire Young and Kaylin Johnson scored four times, and Lia Kitsmiller scored twice.

Grove City Christian 8, Millersport 7: The Lakers fell in walk-off fashion against the Eagles, who scored two runs on a single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Emma Raver led Millersport with four hits. Raver also hit in her 100th career RBI and her 47th this season. Kendyl Bonkowski took the loss as she pitched six-plus innings, allowing eight runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out 11 and walking three.
