EVSC Superintendent Concludes Term with Final "State of the Schools" Address

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation Superintendent, Dr. David Smith, presented his last "State of the Schools" speech.

Smith has spent 43 years serving the EVSC, with his role as superintendent spanning the past 14 years.

He is said to leave behind one of his most significant legacies through the leadership team he is departing with.

In her speech, Dr. Smith discussed the school’s programs, their collaboration with the Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center, as well as early college courses.

The educational institution provides more than 300 certificates and opens up around 250 internship opportunities for students.

It has been announced that a new superintendent will likely be appointed this month. Dr. Smith’s final working day is scheduled for July 1st.
