DAV Pioneer City Chapter 52 Welcomes Five New Leaders: Champions for Our Fellow Veterans

WHIPPLE, Ohio (WTAP) - The DAV Pioneer City Chapter 52 administered oaths of office to newly elected leaders for the term spanning 2025 through 2026.

Commander Jim Crawford led the ceremony, officially administering the oath to five newly appointed leaders.

All five men are disabled veterans who have made a commitment to lead, uplift, and advocate for their brothers and sisters in arms.

The aim of this ceremony was to guarantee that not a single disabled veteran gets left behind and that every voice is acknowledged under the new leadership.

"My responsibilities basically involve keeping things running smoothly, considering various ideas, and doing whatever is necessary to support theDisabled American Veterans chapter. This includes collaborating with other veteran groups and working alongside the veterans service commission to assist veterans. All our efforts, whether done by me, fellow board members, or other veteran organizations, aim to improve the lives of both current and former servicemen." stated James Booth, who has recently been appointed as theChapter Commander.

Commander Booth discusses his background in the military.

Commander Booth stated, "My military journey began in 1989 right after I finished high school. I headed to Fort Benning, Georgia, for both basic training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Following that, I was assigned to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, home of the 101st Airborne Division. During our brief deployment in Panama, we received some initial training before being involved in Operation Desert Shield and subsequently Operation Desert Storm. There, alongside my unit, I witnessed these operations unfold from start to finish."

Jr. Vice President Denny Gossett

Treasurer Ed Lucinao

Adjutant David Brown

The community of family and friends gathered to honor these individuals and commend them on assuming their new leadership positions.
