Could Frogs Be Bound for Eugene This Postseason?

As May rolls around, it’s time once again to focus on playoff baseball. With only two weeks remaining in the regular season, the postseason looms ahead. On Monday, May 26, which is less than three weeks from now, the selection of the 64 teams for the tournament will be revealed.

The Horned Frogs (34-15, 15-9), who missed out on the tournament last season, are now sharing the third-place position in the Big 12 alongside two other teams. West Virginia leads the conference, followed by Arizona State in second place. TCU is equally ranked with Arizona and Kansas.

What Teams Are Projected to Make the College Baseball Postseason Tournament?

Every week as the playoffs draw near, D1Baseball.com—a top provider of college baseball news, scores, and related content—refreshes its forecasts for the post-season competition.

This week, seven out of the 14 teams in the Big 12 are expected to secure their spots in the tournament, an increase of one compared to last week. These teams include Arizona, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Kansas, Kansas State, TCU, and West Virginia. Currently, both Arizona and West Virginia are forecasted to be home-field hosts for a Regional.

Five other teams TCU has played in nonconference play are also projected to make the field: Arkansas, DBU, San Diego, Southern Miss, and UTSA. Michigan and UTRGV, both TCU nonconference opponents, are in the first four out and not projected to make the field.
