"Animals Need Protection!" Democrat Slams Kristi Noem With Sardonic Advisory

Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) took a sharp, thinly veiled jab at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Tuesday, issuing a tongue-in-cheek advisory ahead of her scheduled visit to his state.

Noem plans to conduct a press conference in Springfield on Wednesday to address issues concerning Illinois. sanctuary policies , as reported by local media outlets. However, prior to this MAGA No Republican had set foot in the state when Pritzker’s office issued a warning filled with sarcasm.

"We strongly recommend that all pet owners in the area ensure their cherished animals are well-protected during the Secretary's visit," stated the Democratic governor’s office in an emailed message to journalists, as reported by Chicago Sun-Times lead political correspondent Tina Sfondeles.

The dig was a not-so-subtle reference to Noem’s admission last year for mistreating her family's dog.

But Pritzker’s office wasn’t done poking fun at Noem. The email to reporters on Tuesday also mocked the DHS secretary’s style.

The same message also invites journalists to cover what resembles a reality TV-style approach to governance.

Noem’s trip to Illinois occurs as the Trump administration accused the state in a new lawsuit this week of unlawfully discouraging businesses from using E-Verify the federal mechanism created to exclude non-citizens who do not have authorization to work in the United States.
